BHSN: Applying to Bridgeport Hosp for Fall 2013

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

Hi All,

I thought I would start a new topic for those of us who are planning to apply to BHSN's Nursing program for the Fall 2013.

I will get things started with my stats (which aren't great...but not too terrible!):

TEAS - 78% (planning to re-take)

GPA - 3.2 (currently)

I also applied to GWCC and Southern, so hopefully I will get into one of these programs!

I'm sooooooooo excited!!!!!!! I received my ACCEPTANCE letter on Saturday !!!! Finally

Quick question: Did your online status ever change from "application under review" to "decision letter sent"?

Ahhh thanks soo much guys!!!!! I haven't checked online in over a month, cause I had giving up all hope. Lol but I will check the site later not a problem. Everyone that is still waiting , your time will also come!

Nurse2bKay2012 congrats!!!! :D

KristenR unfortunately, it won't happen.... :(

People, be advised!!! The pre-requirements at Housatonic are totally different from NCC!

I went there friday to sign up for the A&P classes and I couldn't because you need Math, CHE aaaand "Intro to Bio", which is not necessary at NCC...

I was sooooo mad because I could have taken Bio this semester!!!!! I just didnt because my adviser (at NCC) said it wasnt necessary...

Now I had to sign up at NCC to take AP1, and Ill have to take AP2 some other time, because at NCC both classes are held at the same month during the summer...

You guys have no idea how ****** I was!!! and upset, and crying blah blah blah.... I think it is very unfair that those colleges ask for different pre-req, as they are all Community Colleges from the same state...

I might sound dumb for some of you guys who already knew it... but I just didnt... :(

Living and learning....

WannaBNurse23 my status online has never changed from "under review"... and I got my letter in early march.

Thank you! Now I know not to even bother with looking online.

Has anyone else gotten any news from BHSN? Please share.

Yes my status never changed either , still says under review

Mine JUST changed to "Decision letter Sent" the letter was sent yesterday. Now I am so nervous to see what it says. I'll pray for the best and prepare for plan b, I also applied at NVCC. So lets see.

WannaBNurse23: I have my fingers crossed for you! So excited for you! Sending good vibes your way. Good luck, luv!

I am taking Bio right now so I could take A& P, but what i learned was if you meet with the pre-nursing advisor at Housatonic, she will accept your HIGH SCHOOL bio if you passed and provide her with an unofficial transcript as proof. I was shocked I could have saved myself taking bio at the college level. :( Maybe that will help you? Her name is Sandy Barnes I believe, she was very helpful.

Nurse2bKay2012: Congrats on the acceptance!!!

vivinursingstudent: I'm sorry to hear that. It is crapy that they have different requirements, but at least you can get A@P1 out the way. You should look into the other community colleges like gateway to see if you can do it there. Good luck!!!
