so i have a question about bevill also... my grades are currently as listed:
a&p1 b
a&p2 c
micro b
bio 103 c
chemistry a
mth100 c
From what i understand with how they pick for the program, the only classes they look at really are the sciences and math, but they do look at the other classes and you are given more points if you have completed all these classes prior to the application being submitted. also on my teas test, i made a 72.7%=109.5 on other schools scales... the lady told me that they look to see if u have above a 2.5 then they send out letters inviting you to take the teas v test then they make their selection based on the lever( developing, proficient, advanced,ect..) can anyone tell me how true this is? do i stand a good chance of getting in?
Thanks! So are u currently in the program now? If so how are your classes? Schedule? Are u able to pick the time u take the classes? What semester are u in? And by the gradesthat I listed initially, do u think I have a good chance of getting into the program. I've had speech, chemisty, English 1 &2 , math 100 my humanities and those classes I I listed web I started the post.

What is your gpa? That can really affect whether or not you get accepted. The grades you listed earlier seem fine to me. I'm in my 2nd semester, you don't have a choice with your schedule, everyone takes the same classes together. This semester is split into two mini terms. We are taking OB now and in March we start Med Surg. We are going two days a week from 9:25-2:00 and clinical one day a week (8 hour clinical) but in March when we start Med Surg we will be having 12 hour clinicals!
It's alot of work and ALOT of reading!! But so worth it so far. You did say you're applying for RN right? Or was it LPN?
So what was your first semeter like? Was it enjoyable? Hard? Easy? In between? And did u lose slot of classmates progressing into the second semester?
First semester wasn't too bad you just have to keep up your reading and NEVER get behind. They are throwing so much at you so fast you just afford to slack any at first. Fundamentals was probably the easiest class but alot of people did horrible in it because there was so much material to be covered, we would have like 20 chapters on just one test. There would be so much material even though it wasn't that hard it wa just difficult to soak it all in within such a short period. I made all B's my first semester. Actually I made an 86, 89, and 85 so it sucks they couldn't have at least bumped my 89 up to an A but oh well. We started out with I think 72 people and we are already down to 50 after just one semester. The teachers make a HUGE difference. Not saying any names but the teachers our first semester weren't that great. They basically just read off the powerpoints and gave is scarce additional info. Our new teacher this semester, on the other hand is awesome!!!! I feel like I learn so much more.
You will take Pharmacolgy the first semester. After you pass that and move onto the 2nd semester you will be able to do more things during clinicals that you weren't allowed to do before such as give shots and start IV's. Stuff like that so I am pretty pumped right now bc I start my first clinical this semester tomorrow! Last semester during clinicals I didn't do much of anything. I did get to watch a few c-sections though so that was kinda cool.
Pop! I am so excited! I'm taking cna classes now and retaking my anatomy 202 so hopefully that gives me a little more edge! Because I've heard it's really important that you know how the body works ( the physiology aspect). And hopefully I can take nutrition and patho this summer before starting the program! Hopefully that gets me really prepared! Would u recommend anything else?
Lol! I am so excited! I'm retaking my 202 as a mini term and taking patho this summer so hopefully that fully prepares me! Ive heard really know 202 material really prepared u! I'm not exactly sure how it's calculated, I was told it is by a point system but they never really told me. I just know I got in lol.
To give you an example, I made all B's in every required pre-req and I think maybe one A, one C. On my Teas I think my grade was a high B or so...I remember it said I was in the 95th percentile. They do also look at what pre-reqs you have left to take. You can't make below a C in any of the required classes, or that's what I've been told. I know somebody who made a D in Bio103 years and years ago, they still got in the program but they were told before they could take the NCLEX they would need to retake Bio103 and get at least a C. I don't know if this is true or not though. Good luck and I don't mind answering any other questions you have! I was very hungry for any info I could get when I was trying to get into the program so I know how it is! :)
