Specializes in Cardiac Stepdown.

Hi,

I am currently relocating to the Boston area. I have found a few positions at Beth Isreal. Was wondering if anyone worked there? Was curious about pay and experience? I have 6 yrs of nursing experience in a cardiac stepdown unit. Recieved my Mas license last week! Now on the job hunt!! Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks in advance!! :)

I work at Beth Israel. Been there for almost 4 years as an RN (started as a new grad there). I'm not sure how much you'd get since you have 6 years of experience. My guess would be in the 30ish/hr range since thats how much I'm making now. Good luck on the job hunt! What positions were you looking at?

I have experience in a cardiac stepdown unit. I applied for a position on a telemetry unit, received an email that my application was being reviewed and the next day the position was no longer posted? They must fulfill positions fairly fast! I would prefer to work on a telemetry unit, but open to working on a general med/surg if available. I also noticed many hosptial posts positions for 8 hr shifts? Is there any reason for this or just hospital preference? I am accustomed to working 3 12's and love it! I keep looking everyday for new postings, hopefully something comes along!!

I think it may be be floor specific whether staff work 8 hour or 12 hour shifts. Though if you work 40 hours its usually 2 8's and 2 12's. I'm currently working 40 hours but will cut back to 36 hours hopefully in September (which at BIDMC if you work at least 30 hours you're still considered full time). Hopefully something comes along for you!

Hello,

I also work at BIDMC. Make sure you let the HR/rec know that you're looking at all tele / RN opportunities so you can cast your net wide. Otherwise you can apply to the float pool and get a taste of all the different floors.

We are full full full of pts so there's no reason with your experience you shouldn't get some position. And if you don't, I'd LOVE to hear it.....

HI,

So finally after two months....I finally have an interview next week at Beth Israel! Very Excited!! I was wondering, I had heard the nurses pay is on salary??? I've always been paid on hourly. Was just wondering how accurate that was. Any extra info would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!! : )

I have an interview at BIDMC next week. Do you like working there? What type of shifts do you work? I'm interviewing in the T/SICU and I just want to know a little more of what to expect. Right now I work 7 days on, 7 days off (which I love). Do they work 12 hr shifts in the ICUs? Any info you have would be greatly appreciated!!

I work at BIDMC, too! I absolutely LOVE working here! It seems as though most of the nurses in the ICU's work 12 hr shifts. This is an awesome place to work!
