Hi all - I've been reviewing the boards here for a while and thank you all for your detailed responses and information left. This board is awesome and has really helped me calm my nerves with respect to the admissions process at Beth Israel in NYC.
My apologies if a thread of this nature already exists - (i couldn't find one) -- Just wondering if any 2012 applicants are out there?? I am applying to the evening session beginning in January 2012.
I've submitted my completed package and scored an 89th percentile AD on the NLN PAX. I took the computerized version and was able to get my scores back immediately. The anticipation would have killed me otherwise.
Anyway, I am eagerly awaiting a call or email from PBISON regarding the next step in the admission process which is the in-person interview. Fingers, Toes, and eyes are crossed!
Is anyone else out there applying for admission to the 2011/2012 entering class? Anyone further ahead in the process, perhaps you've had your interview already? I'm wondering how long to wait from the time I submitted my scores to the time of following up w/ the admissions board... I'm thinking 2 weeks is fair.?
Any comments welcome. Thanks in advance - and good luck!
As did I, Ladynurse11. My interview was last week, Thursday. She said the interview committee is meeting this coming week, Wednesday and that's where they'll accept some more students out of the pile, and decide on more interviews. Wait for a phone call after wednesday. BTW i applied for the two year traditional, and when i went to the interview the lady told me i should go for ATOP because i have a lot of the pre reqs. She also told me that both tracks have a lot of openings left, so don't worry.

ahahh I hope your right. I really hope I can get into the day program. I have 2 kids with full time schedules in the evening.
Hello everyone,I have an interview on Monday and i was wondering if theres anything i should know? tips, advice? im sooo nervousss! =(
be prepared to answer these:
strengths and weaknesses?
why do you want to be a nurse?
what events have led you to where you are today?
Tell me about your grades, good or bad? what classes where easy/hard?
what do you plan on doing with your nursing degree 10 years down the line/ where do you see yourself?
have any healthcare experience/ tell me about it?
i get really nervous during interviews, but this was really relaxed, like a conversation with a friend. deep breaths and relax. read your essay because she'll refer to it numerous times. Be genuine, all she wants to know is that you really want to be a nurse.
i didn't have the best grades, the interviewer even told me that, but it was because of my passion to be a nurse that i was accepted into the program.
You've met all the requirements, now just show her who you are. You'll get accepted, im sure of it.
good luck :)
Hello to all, from me, Julia. I'm so excited to have made myself a part of AllNurses.com, took me forever to get the guts lol. Ever since I messed up my first year of college as a nursing major, I've been repenting since then!
I made my way over to this thread because I have been on BI's waiting list for almost 2 years now!
But, I made everything up, retook the NLN, etc. & I finally got an interview for next Tuesday. It's not much to be proud of sharing with everyone, but I thought I'd throw this out there & see what advice everyone here can offer me. PLZ!
