in order to "brain dump" right before the test?

Any popular info/ mnemonics people use to remember stuff just before the test and write it down on the board?

Be careful with "brain dumping" it can be cause for your results to be put on hold and/or cancelled. Writing anything before the tutorial is over is grounds for your results to be placed on hold (and thus a delay in your licensing). Personally I've found that I don't do well on tests in general when permitted to brain dump at the start of the exam.

I used my white board for: 1. write out drug calculation/med math step by step in long form using labels to ensure I answered correctly (my problem was a multi step complicated drug calculation with safe dose, and a variety of unit conversions required), 2. list answers (i.e. A B C D E) to either cross out to figure out the best choice or to do T/F to figure out SATA 3. to "reword" a question if I wanted to check an answer.

Yes the white boards cannot be erased. If you need a new board the old board is collected at the end. At the end of your exam, the white board is collected & kept with your file so if there are any questions regarding your result the white board in additon to the keystroke logger and videotape, to determine the course of action necessary (if any).

Good Luck

I know lab values seems a waste of space to write. Looking for helpful mnemonics to memorize infection control etc

Thank you nurses for the info and enlightenment and suggestions. :)

They tell you that you are now allowed to brain dump.

I used the board like this:

If I did not know the answer, I turned away from the question, wrote out on the white board everything I could think of concerning the topic, whether it fit or not..then I went back to the question and looked to see if any of the answers were close to anything I had written.

I passed in 75 questions.

Good day nurses! :) I just have some questions about the provided white board:

My former professor told me that you have to wait till you are actually answering nclex questions BEFORE you write anything onto the board. Because once you write something and you haven't started answering, you can be charged w/ brain dumping by the pearson peeps. Is there any truth to this? Please educate me. :) When I took my 1st exam, I wasn't able to use it. But I'm planning to use it for my 2nd try, since that way, I can pace myself not to answer questions too fast. Hehe ;)

And if ever, can you ask for additional boards, just in case you need it??

Thank you so much!:D God bless us all.

yes that's true and by the way dont erase you need to ask for another one.
