My New Years Eve was not as exciting as I hoped it would be. Saw someone whose jaw was broken with a bat and the usual drunk and vomiting. Did anyone see something more interesting?
I've been out of the ER for about 3 years Anne - miss it sometimes.
Interesting coincidence - I just finished re-reading a book called "Emergency Doctor" by Edward Ziegler in cooperation with Lewis R. Goldfrank, M.D. It is about the ER at Bellevue Hospital in NY. It was written in 1987 and I've read it at least 5 times over the years.
Very good writing about ER experiences and Dr. Goldfrank includes great stories that always include the nurses and other members of the medical team.
The stories of the frequent flyer drunks though - amazingly heartwarming in a way.
Seems like the times I worked New Year's Eve in our little hospital were very dull and quiet. I live in a rural area where is gets pretty darn cold at night. Not much traffic to speak of and only two bars.
