Best TC hospitals for new grads?

I'm graduating in December with my ADN, and am interesting in CC/ER/ICU. Any advice on which TC hospitals are the best for new grads? I've spoken with Allina, and will be applying for their new grad nurse program, as well as North's ACE program as well.

Thanks!

A friend of mine started in MedSurg at United in St Paul and loved it - good pay, benefits, etc. - OT was offered often. She did know one person who started in ICU but most people moved into it rather than getting hired into it. I know another who started in NICU at Children's & has been there for a few years now - I don't know how common that is, however. Good luck!

Thanks for the info - I live in the NW 'burbs of Minny, so United is a bit of a haul for me, but I'd consider it.

Anyone have any experience with the World Famous Mayo Clinic? Might be worth a move if the pay is right.

Great place to work, at Mayo - hospitals of Methodist and St. Mary's. Look for clinic RN jobs there too. Employees can't park on site until about ten years of service because the place is right in the downtown.

Hello,

Several of my classmates and myself got jobs at the University of Minnesota, Fairview both the U campus and Riverside campus. One guy (prior EMT) started in cardiac Icu and another girl (EMT) started in ER on the U campus. They are very receptive to new grads and give a pretty thorough 4 week orientation.

Many of the other students also started in the float pool.

How's the parking situation at Fairview Riverside? I know that parking for the clinic at the U of M campus (Boyton) is really hard to find, and I'm not too wild about having to pay $10/shift for parking. Thanks!
