Hi all, I failed my exam with 265 questions and was near passing in each category. SO, I am creating a study plan and am thinking about using Saunder's Comprehensive Review, my Hurst review book, and LaCharity's Prioritization and Delegation. I believe I need to go through more questions. I went through my Hurst review book prior to my first attempt, but I feel I didn't practice enough questions and go through rationales enough. I cannot afford Kaplan right now.
What has been the best source for you for practice questions? Has anyone used Lipincott's Q & A?
Also, should I buy the 5th or 6th edition of Saunder's Comprehensive Review?
Thanks so much in advance

A good thing to do is to get into the habit of answering questions. After you answer each question, read the explanation for the answer. Then, move on to studying questions in test mode without reading the explanation; this will give you practice for the NCLEX. I used Kaplan to prepare for the NCLEX, but since you cannot afford that right now, I would suggest practicing as many questions as you can. If you would like, go to Kaplan's website; they have a free practice test as well as a free strategy seminar. The next practice test is June 30 and the next strategy seminar is July 3 but you have to register. I hope this helps you.
I meant to say answer questions in test mode, not study. :)

If you can afford $50 I would recommend the NCSBN's learning extension course. The questions are high quality and rationales are provided. I also used lacharity, I would definitely recommend using that as well.

The best source for me is whatever questions I can get my hands on. What matters is that I am able to think my way through any question. With that said, I've been using:
Hurst (online 90-day review for content and will take their Q-Review tests soon)
NCLEX-4000
PDA by LaCharity
Saunders Comprehensive Review 5th edition (yeah, buy the yellow one not the newest edition...I don't think it matter so long as you get the CD with practice questions that comes with the 5th edition)
NCLEX mastery app (really good for SATA questions)
I heard Lippincott's Q&A was really good. Have not tried it because I am busy with the sources I already have.
Thank you everyone!

@lingling22 I'm also preparing for the exam so I'm curious what worked for you and what didn't. I wish you good luck preparing for the next exam though. You can do it!
I have the Saunders on my kindle I thought I could read every page but I don't think I can it's too jammed with information which is a good thing I'm assuming but its very hard to narrow down and summarize into my personal notes. I also have Lippincott and I think the questions are tough but that's just me I think everything is tough.

Thank you! Good luck to you too :). The first time I took it I used Hurst and ATI. Hurst was a good content review but I focused too much on it and didn't do enough questions. I did a lot of ATI questions but I didn't write down the rationales when I went over them. This time around, I'm going to do at least 100 questions a day and really pay attention to the rationales. I'm going to write them down and learn from them instead of just reading them and breezing through. I ordered the Saunders comprehensive review and Lippincott's Q & A and their on their way; I am glad to hear that they're tough questions. I am also working out of LaCharity's for prioritization and delegation questions. I had only done 3 chapters before the first attempt. Won't be making that mistake again!
