Best sites to look for jobs after becoming a RN?

I am studying to become a RN currently and I was wondering, which sites should I hit up for jobs after I graduate? Are sites like Monster and Indeed all they're cracked up to be? Are there any sites I should avoid? Any horror stories about sites that post jobs that aren't very good?

Thank you for your time:nurse:

i'm not an RN yet, but i have gotten most jobs off craigslist.org, although i use monster.com also, i've only had one interview off them in the last ten years, whereas i've landed many interviews off craigslist.

Hmmmmmm..... I don't know about craigslist for RN jobs(I wouldn't do it!), but I would recommend the hospital/facility directly!! They all have their own careers page... Most of them you need to apply online anyway.

I have used Career builder as well with some listing... most seem to be agency though, but some regular RN positions at hospitals, LTC, etc.

Good Luck on your future job search!!

I just graduated in December 10, passed boards in February 10, and found my very 1st Nursing job (full time) in March! I was worried I couldn't find a job at first because no one called me back for about 6 weeks.... then the call!!!! They hired me, but the pay is GOOD too! It is 45 minutes away from my house so it helps if you are willing to drive a bit or even relocate. :)

Indeed.com. You also need to check hospital websites directly because sometimes they don't advertise postings.

Craigslist is a viable option for HR since it's free.... Indeed, monster, and the rest charge BIG TIME to hospitals. Also alot of the stuff on monster and such isn't worth the ink it's printed on. I agree you will get more jobs from craigslist then the others every day of the week.... I mean when a website is still offering jobs from 3 years ago?! come on update already!

Look on the website of the institution you're interested in working for. You could also walk in to HR and fill out applications there. I would not wait til after graduation to begin job searching. Begin your job search at least 2 months before graduation. It's a tough job market out there, esp. for new RNs.

Look at the facility you're interested in website; I've also found that your states 'department of labor' website can be a good site to look for available jobs.
