Best site for used textbooks?

Published

Hi, I will be starting my nursing classes in mid-August, and am trying to round up the huge amount of books I need. Does anyone know of a good place to find newer edition used textbooks? I know ebay can be good...I have gotten several from there, but are there any other good resources?

Thanks!:redbeathe

My FAVE is www.betterworldbooks.com They are a non profit which collects donated book from libraries, university libraries, individuals and publishers and then sells them with the profits going to fund literacy in underdeveloped countries.

I have found many, many GREAT used books through them at ridiculously low prices. Shipping is free. They do also sell new books which I think are a bit more than you would pay at amazon, but I like to support what they do so I buy new ones from them also.

I used www.gettextbooks.com to compare prices. I bought one book from Barnes and Noble, a whole bunch from Amazon, and I'm waiting for an auction to close on Ebay. I was shocked, but I'm actually going to buy a couple of my books used from my campus bookstore, since they had the best price on those.

I started last semester and had to get 13 books. Getting them through the book store was going to be about $1200. I used textbooks.com and amazon and got all of my books for about $700. I trust both of the sites.

Also- Don't be afraid to buy international editions. They are the same content, for 1/4th to 1/10th the price. If they come paperback you can always have them rebound or hole-punched to put in a notebook.
