best reads for us going into nursing

hi all , i want to ask anybody to give suggestions on a good book to read that will help with the journey from a lay person all the way through rn school and onto a career! ,you know almost like a manual to help through all the steps there can be to becoming a nurse ! :) thank you for any good suggestions i would love somthing to read to help me in my quest to be a nurse :) :nurse: thanks

Better and Complications by Gawande are both great books, not directly related to nursing but gives you an inside look at how things work in the hospital and why certain things are done the way they are. Also, I highly recommend Chicken Soup for the Nurses Soul, 1 and 2. They have tons of inspiring stories from patients and nurses. Enjoy!!

Nurse! was an interesting read, the author aspires to be Florence Nightengale to defend the health and well being of her family first and man second. Another biography, not a resource book!
