Hi,
I'm a 2nd semester nursing student and I'm learning about what labs I should focus on, specific to disease. Is there a good book out there on labs? One where I can flip to the diagnosis and it will tell me what labs to focus on. It needs to be a small book or "pocket guide" so that I can bring it to clinicals with me. I have a clipboard that I can open up and fit a small book inside. An even smaller book to fit in my pocket would be ideal =) Any recommendations on books would be greatly appreciated.

If possible, invest in a PDA. Skyscape has wonderful programs that will greatly help you on the floor.

I had a PDA in nursing school and used skyscape programs. I absolutely loved it. My clinical instructor was always having me look up things. If you don't have the money for the PDA and programs go to American Association of critical care nursing and search their pocket guides, there is one for labs. I have the cardiac, labs and hemodynamics and they are great resources.
