I am coming off a hard blow from a community college dealing with th ELPN program. I have now deicided to go ahead and do an RN program. What would you say is the best school in Saint Louis to attend?

I'm not sure what you mean by "a hard blow", but I think the "best" school is one that meets your needs at the time.

If you won't have financial aids or loans and cost is an issue, then community colleges are a good option: 2 year core programs, prereqs that can be taken at your leisure, and depending on which one you are interested, admittance can usually be done within a year after application.

If you've got the time and money, a 4-year program is a great option. Most of my fellow ASN grads will eventually be going on for our BSNs, so it's a good way to get this completed early on. I can't say I've heard too many bad things about our local universities -- UMSL, SLU, Maryville, Barnes Jewish, and Mizzou (if you're up for the drive, lol) appear to all have good programs.

I'd suggest contacting nursing counselors for the places you are interested in and weighing their requirements vs. what you've already completed and still need to accomplish. Evaluate costs and time to be admitted.

Once you've done that, you can make a decision based on YOUR needs and wants!!

well I won't name the school but i was in the LPN program and was failed out over something that I shouldn't have and could have fought it but i have decided if i am going to put that much work into something it might as well be a ADN or BSN. Did anyone go to a really great school?
