Berxi Malpractice?

Looking for a new malpractice company and Berxi is coming up as like $400 a year. Most others are $1,000+. Is Berxi legit and usually that cheap or did I do something wrong? Thanks!

Are you comparing the same type of policy (occurrence and claims-made)? claims made policies are usually cheaper.

In terms of the company itself. I'm pretty sure Berxi is legit. It's part of Berkshire Hathaway which is a gigantic holding company that also owns GEICO, among a gazillion other corporations. That's probably why they can offer more competitive pricing.

However, do consider customer service and ability to counsel. I think that's very important when a person needs to make a claim given that it's a highly-stressful event. You don't want get lost in the crowd, which tends to happen with large companies.

I would also consider coverage extensions. I think NSO provides a bunch of ancillary coverages, but not sure if Berxi includes those.

I had Berxi malpractice coverage for years as an RN and they were great for me, I currently am using CMF&G for my NP because they had the coverage I was looking for.
