Bergen Community College 2020 Nursing Fall (day-time) Program

Published

Hi-

Who's aiming for 2020 BCC Fall Nursing Program?

Let's share info and all ace the TEAS! And get into the program ?

I heard the proportion of the avg is based on 60% TEAS score and 40% GPA. Is this correct? For the GPA - is it only English and Science?

Also, which book is the most helpful?

I'm starting with Kaplan - as a lot of pple found this book to be helpful.

Hey guys, I took TEAS Exam just today. Got 82.7, and I don’t know if this gonna be enough to get into the program ?

thoughts?

WOW! That's a really good score considering I've heard of people doing a lot of worse. I'm taking it Thursday, what resource do you think helped you the most?

So, from the books I used Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exams 6th edition. They have pretty good review on Math and Science. Reading and English parts do not look exactly as in the book, but it is still worth to use it as a practice.

I did not purchase any practice exams from ATI website, but I solved number of free questions that were available online. Here are the links:

https://uniontestprep.com/TEAS/practice-test

https://www.test-guide.com/free-TEAS-practice-tests.html

https://www.tests.com/practice/TEAS-tests

I got the lowest score on Reading, although it seemed really easy as I was doing the test ? but English is my second language, and certainly it didn't help.

Math section is very basic, however it includes a few technical questions such as dependent/independent variables, so it's not only about counting.

Science, well I did very good on that section, but it seemed very, very difficult during the exam. A lot of endocrine, circulatory, nervous system. Some bones, muscles, urinary, reproductive system. I didn't notice many Physics questions, I had a feeling there was much more Chemistry.

English wasn't that bad, but like I said, it is my second language, so it's kinda challenging for me.

I was worried about the time, but.. I finished my exam in 2h20min.. and I think that it wouldn't change much if I would spend all the time I was given for rechecking my answers. I decided to trust my gut.

I hope this will be helpful for you. GOOD LUCK for you guys!

By the way, does anyone know the way to check the admission status online?

I read in the other section for Fall 2019, that they were able to check on their Bergen account, but they changed the site arrangement since then.

I was wondering the same thing.

hey y'all, just wanted to start off by saying I'm rooting for all of us ? I hope everyone did well, and good luck to those who haven't taken the TEAS yet!!

I took the TEAS last Tuesday, and I got an 84. I have a 3.41 cumulative GPA, don't know what my science/english GPA is but it's not very good rip

I only used the Kaplan test prep book, and the smartedition TEAS full study guide. used up all my time refreshing on A&P lessons over the course of 2 days.

I know a few of us took the exam today, I hope it went well for everyone! I just finished taking it and im SO RELIEVED its over. got an 86 with 3.9 cumulative GPA, I think 3.8 science/english. I feel pretty confident, feels like a big weight lifted.

for resources, I used mometrix TEAS secrets book & ATI study manual. Making a quizlet helped ALOT. Also, I actually found the exam to be pretty similar to the A&B practice tests.

Does anyone know what's next? like the scores should be automatically submitted, right? anything we have to manually do or will they just contact us about our admission? Also, does anyone know when we should find out?

I took it today as well, and I got an 80, which I'm feeling indifferent about. I don't know whether we have to send in our scores, but I believe they automatically get sent to them. Also, I don't know how long it takes to find out if you have gotten in.

The scores should be sent automatically to Bergen, even when you log in into your ATI account and you pull up your exam results, when you click "share results" there is an information that Bergen will receive it.

Typically, they send letters within two weeks from the deadline. I know that last year you were able to check your admission status on your student account, but they changed the site arrangement, and I don't know how to find it now ?

Do you guys know when we should apply for background check? I mean, first we need to get the letter, or do it before that happens?

I was just looking at the process for admissions pdf on bergen's website, it says "You will be advised to submit a CHBC request within 5 days of the date stated on the admissions letter" so I guess we wait til then!

Do you know what the process is to do that??

Yes, I found the instruction in the Student Packet for those who where admitted this Spring. Here is the link to that document (page 16):

Bergen uses only this company for background check, they mentioned that on the Info Session. I looked at the form on the website and it looks pretty clear to fill out. The only thing I was wondering is the time we should order it, I know they say 5 days within getting acceptance letter, but I'm so terrified that I'm miss the freaking deadline, so I just wanted to make sure ?
