Hey guys! So I'm applying to the BCC evening nursing program that starts in spring 2016. Is there anyone else out there who is applying with me? I'm going crazy with anticipation for the applications to open lol. I just want to get started already!!
My GPA from my two stints at Bergen is 3.42 and my Bachelors GPA from Rutgers is 3.19. The combine the GPA's to get your true one. I'm assuming i'll probably fall some where in the middle. I read they have changed the admission criteria to 60% Hesi exam and 40% GPA. I have also read they were trying have changed the testing criteria. They want to have a minimum score of 78% for admission consideration. I do not know if it has been approved. I think your GPA is fine. Just make sure you crush the test. Don't give them a reason to say no.
Iam such a nervous wreck right now... I was emailing elsa like crazy because I was so nervous about my incomplete status ... she never gave me a direct answer as to why so you answered my question and main concern so thank you!... I remember the first time I applied was around 11:45 20 minutes before the apps were up and it was up but I submitted my form twice and it was wrong so I had to call the nursing department and have them discard the first two... and I had to resend it again through the new one...im just so stressed out and I have been studying like crazy... I have biology mostly down pact grammar and chem Is bugging me out right now.. grammar seems ok but as far as chem goes im nervous .
Im a level 2 nursing student
My advices:
1) Do the reading/grammar/vocabulary first. These sections contain about 55 questions each and require reading skills and some basic/complex critical thinking. (Takes a chunk of your time) careful read the questions and every answers. Example: My child ran away form home. If read fast you might not catch the error (form instead of from).
2) Math is basic: ration proportion, percentage, adding/subtracting/dividing. (Yes, there is a drop down calculator) about 55 questions as well.
3) If you have time, read the first couple of chapters from a Bio book. Introductory materials.
4) know some basic vocabulary pertaining to medical terminology.
5) Read a book on test taking techniques.
