Hey guys! So I'm applying to the BCC evening nursing program that starts in spring 2016. Is there anyone else out there who is applying with me? I'm going crazy with anticipation for the applications to open lol. I just want to get started already!!
I did speak with the woman in charge of our applications and she wasn't really clear on whether or not it had to specifically be chem 100 or not. if you private message me, i can give you her email and phone number so you can ask her about your specific class. I can't see how it would be a problem because on the application it just says a college chemistry course, it doesn't specify that it specifically has to be 100 so I'm like 99% you're fine. but if you want a definite, 100% answer i would email the woman in charge.
Good decision to register just in case. If you can't get anyone on the phone I would go to Bergen to get your question answered. I know if you cannot use your high school chemistry class to satisfy the requirement, their college substitute course is CHM 100 but they do not provide any specific details on whether or not they'll take other courses so it's best to figure that out now. To give you guys some insight on the hesi, i did not think it was as hard as many people made it out to be. However, I started studying about 2-3 months prior. I know many people say the review book Bergen recommends did not help them as much, but it was just fine for me and I was able to do very well.
Hey! So, I spoke with a lady that is in charge of admissions to the nursing program. Higher level chemistry courses are permitted to satisfy the requirement. If you don't mind me asking how well did you do on the Hesi? I want to shoot for over an 85, so any information would help a ton! Like, what type of questions should I look for, and what should I focus on when I study.
That's good to hear! It must be a relief to get that question answered and out of the way. Focus on the sciences the most. They contained the most broad questions out of the other topics. If you speak English fluently, do not stress about vocab and grammar. Most of the questions were simple to find the answers that made the sentence sound complete. If you're a math person like me, the book was a great review as it was for most of the topics and it will definitely help you achieve a higher than average score as it did for me. Start studying early and you will do extremely well. Good luck to you and everyone else!

Hey @mdavidson1 were you able to ask about the chemistry requirement when you met with admissions?
