Benefits at Baylor All Saints?

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I just finished school from LVN-RN and would like to work at one of the Baylor Hospitals. I have heard that they have really bad health insurance. Has anyone else come across this?

Thanks Josh:wink2:

I think they are similar to what you will find anywhere. My husband is a midlevel manager at a major manufacturing facility and his are virtually the same. For a few years they switched to the consumer driven health care with a healthcare spending account (NOT a flexible spending account, these are different things) and everyone was up in arms. The truth is it was just the same as a traditional program, but the out of pocket portion was called something different and people were all up in arms. This year they switched back to giving people a choice of different programs and so far everyone I know seems happy. They also have dollar:dollar matching on your 401K and that just can't be beat.

Thank you so much for you reply. That is what I had been hearing abouth the Spending accounts, I am glad they have stopped doing that. I will be applying for there Sept. internships.

They were not really all that bad. We still have my husbands program. I pay *nothing* for preventive care. All acute office visits and prescriptions come out of the 2800.00 "slush fund" (our term, not theirs!) and then when that is used up, we pay all healthcare expenses for the next 3K. Then it kicks in like a regular insurance policy. It is really no different than the PPO, but people prefer not to see their deductible all at once like that.

Overall it has been a great place to work.
