Belmont Accelerated BSN Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi guys!! I just got accepted to Belmont's Fall 2018 accelerated BSN program and was looking for other people that have been accepted or are planning to apply!

Oh that's great news! I've been worried about how I'm going to get all 3 classes in one semester and still work since I don't want to leave my job until the end of July at least. Are you taking the religion classes at Belmont? The admission coordinator told me I could take them elsewhere to save money, but I'm having a hard time finding them elsewhere.

I am just now looking into this program. Can someone give me information on it-Ive never heard of it before. Is it accredited? Is it a good school? Good location? Good academics? How religious is it?

Belmont is a great school. Along with Vanderbilt, they are the best in the area, though is of course more well known. The nursing program is fully accredited and the accelerated program is 16 months starting in the fall only. Belmont is a Christian school, but they've really backed off on the religious aspect in recent years. You do still have the 6 hours of religion courses required and there are definitely plenty of opportunities for those who would like to be more active in the religious community, but it is no longer mandatory. They're also very open/tolerant and embracing of diversity, especially for a Christian school in the south. I live in Nashville and the Belmont/Vanderbilt area is one of the best parts of the city. Very expensive to live there though, so if you're considering moving here for school, you might do best to live a little farther out and commute in. Nashville in general is a pretty awesome city. We've been growing a lot lately so there's always a lot going on.

Brhea3,

what was your GPA when applying? Also, you can take the classes at community college! Or probably community college offers at least one of them.

Brhea, I'm actually taking New Testament at Rutgers University currently and I will take Old Testament at Belmont in the Winter!

My GPA was a 3.0 because of two bad semesters in college the first time around with some family stuff going on. But other than those two semesters, my grades were great and I got A's in all my pre-req classes, so I think that definitely helped me out.

Brhea3,

How long did it take Belmont to accept you? Did you have to wait a few months?

Literally just sent in my application! So nervous!!

It was just under two weeks. I was not expecting anything until December/January at the earliest, so I was pretty shocked to see that email. Good luck! Hopefully we'll be seeing each other in August :)

Yeah that is awesome that they were so quick to respond...thank you!! :)

That really is a quick turn around time to find out! Congrats on getting in! Did they mention how long you'd have to accept their offer? I'm applying to a few other schools, but I'm afraid I'd have to make a decision about one school before knowing if I get in to another.

Hi tmh1205,

So I got accepted on September 29th and I had to submit the deposit by December 1st. I still haven't heard back from the other schools I applied to and I won't hear back from them until January so I had to submit the deposit so I knew I had somewhere to go just in case!

To everyone that was already accepted, were your prerequisites completed at the time of your application or are you still taking them?
