Bee Stings and Steroids

Published

My husband got stung by a group of bees while out on his tractor a few weeks ago. He is allergic so we went to the ER and he got an injection (he dosen't remember what it was) and prescription for steroids. A few days later he started having muscle twitches/spasms in his hand, face and now he is having them all over: arms, legs, and it seems to be getting worse. He is wondering is the twitches were caused by the bee stings or injection they gave him at the hospital.

I know this isn't a forum for medical advice, I just wonder if anyone has had any experience with this sort of thing?

Most likely the "shot" was Epinephren.

He should see his primary care physician or go to an urgent care clinic. This needs to be checked out NOW.

I agree with Agnus, needs to see a Physician.

I am highly allergic to bee stings & take benadryl with me, everywhere I go.

See a doc. When nurses get licenses to practice medicine....you'll get better advice. Then you'll see an abrupt lack of advice online. Nobody in their right mind is gonna give advice without a pt in front of them.

BTW, H1 and H2 antagonists are available anywhere.

agree with above all, just to say steroid has lots of side effects too.
