Becoming very worried

Hi everyone,

I'm a BScN student going into my third year this fall and have decided that I really want to become a CRNA. I've been doing research on the career for a few months now and am positive that its what i would love to do.

I've become really worried though because of my grades. The past two years of my undergrad i had slacked and didnt really try, with my overall gpa right now being a 2.7/2.8. My first year nursing classes are all B's and B+'s and my second year nursing classes are all A-'s. My sciences (which i slacked in) range from C-'s - B's, with one A-. I talked to my student advisor and we are not allowed to retake any required science courses unless we have failed, so that option is out for me.

I am aware that I still have two years remaining, but i calculated what my gpa could be if i received a minimum A- in the rest of the classes i take in the next two years, and my gpa will not be higher than a 3.1. I am positive that I can get A's in the rest of my classes because i am fairly smart, but I just slacked too much first year.

I am also from Canada so would that also knock off a few points off of my application since there will probably be tonnes of students who are U.S. residents?

Is my case hopeless? Any advice you can give will be greatly appreciated!

And i spoke to my student advisor and I will most likely get a ICU clinical placement in 4th year as i have requested it now...which will increase my chances of getting an ICU job when i graduate.
