My sister is thinking about becoming a LPN. I was wondering what is it that LPN in IL cannot do that RNs can do in the state. Also, I've heard that sometimes hospitals won't hire LPNs. Does anyone know if they hire many LPNs in the south suburbs (around Chicago Heights, Park Forest, Steger area in particular). Thanks bunches
LPN's can't push IVs. But they do a lot of the same stuff. I'm going for my RN so I'm not sure about the hiring status of LPN's. I have heard that other states are doing away with the LPN profession. It's a great place to start though. Good luck to your sister.
