Go onto the website of the TX Board of Registered Nursing. The steps to become an RN in TX are found there. However, anticipate that your MD schooling may not be sufficient. I have seen before statements along the line of "MD education does not equate to RN education". I don't know how this is approached in TX. Good luck.

I am foreign MD who converted to nursing here.
If you have general nursing diploma from Ukraine (not "akusherka", "feldsher" or something, but "medsestra obshchei praktiki"), you can go through CGNFS process, pass NCLEX exam and get licensed in Texas. Your MD is not, in any sense, equals nursing education here. These two are considered to be completely different from each other. The only way for you with only foreign MD degree would be to go through nursing education here (but your coursework might be accounted for some prerequisites and actual courses, like Pharmacology). The latter is also only one practical way to go if you want, in the future, to get graduate degree in a good quality US school to become Nurse Practitioner, Midwife or Anesthesist.
PM me if you have more questions.
thanks a lot for a reply!

Why not utilize your medical education and be a physician here? There are plenty of physicians I know that graduated from medical schools outside the United States and have successful careers in medicine.
Just to let you know, there are plenty of people like myself. The road to medical practice for foreign medical grads in this country is so excrutiatingly difficult that many people just do not have resources or support they need to even start it. And it is not ended once one gets into that coveted residency program. I honestly passed those USMLE steps with excellent scores and got there, and I hated every single minute of what I was doing. As an NP, I do essentially the same stuff but the way I like it to do. As a resident, I wouldn't dream about teaching females with FBM to do yoga for self-management of pain. Now, I start thinking about organizing a support group for them.

That makes sense. I honestly have no idea what someone would need to do in this situation. I imagine it would be tough.
