interview question: "if you were a brick in a wall, which brick would you be and why?"
heard this on john tesh radio show tonight, tried the question on newly hired staff and received intresting responses from bottom brick to sandstone brick, even brickbrac.... might add to my stock interview questions.
i do use brain teasers,,,, logic questions used to gauge creativity, quantitative skills, and problem solving skills. another example of this type of question is: "why are manhole covers round?." see tesh'a article including link tobook re how microsoft uses these questions,
be sure you can answer off-the-wall interview questionswhat's the latest trend on the job hunt front? off-the-wall interview questions, like, "if you were a brick in a wall, which brick would you be and why?" or "how many hair salons are there in japan?" according to abc news, interviewers don't ask strange questions like that to humiliate you. they're asking so-called "case interview questions" - which are designed to show how well you think on your feet. in fact, they're not really interested in your answer. what they want is to hear how you reach whatever answer you give. they also want you to answer period - so they can see how you react to stress. so, don't go silent. just come up with anything that sounds logical.......

Other good questions are "if you were a tree (or animal), what kind would you be?"
Regarding the 1st question, will the interview give points for Chutzpah if the applicant jumps on the desk and sings,
"We Don't Need No Education...We Don't Need No Thought Control..." :yeah:
