Be honest please, Am I Kray Kray?

Nursing Students General Students

Hi you guys, first of all I am happy to say that I am no longer a pre-nursing student, thank you very much. But I decided to take some extra classes this summer for enhancement and bring my gpa up even higher. One of those classes is elementary spanish 1 and there is a lab that goes with it too. I hope to soak in as much spanish as possibly can and then take elementary spanish 2 my first semester of nursing school. Is this a smart decision to make or am I in way over my head? You guys know how first semester is and I would greatly love any opinion, please. Thanks a lot.

Our school doesn't let us take classes outside of nursing. If we want a minor, or extra classes we can take them during the summer, since we have summers off from nursing school.

I didn't do it, but I know people who were still taking A&P or Micro on top of nursing and they managed to stay in the program. Our school allows co-requisites during the program, which to me seems a bit odd since you need the knowledge before the nursing program, but I digress. Only catch is this - if you flunk one of those classes during the program and you manage to pass the nursing course, you still flunk out of the program, cause even though they allow co-requisites, those are technically pre-requisites and you would have had to pass those in the first place to gain entry into the program. It's kind of a risky move to make, IMO.

At my nursing school we have to take a spanish class every semester for the first two years!

Good luck!

Does your school accept clep exams? Maybe you can take it and if you get the score you will get the 12 credits for spanish, and you won't have to take classes while in your nursing school. I took only spanish 1 and found out about the clep exam, and shortly after I took it I ended up getting my 12 credit hours.

No, my school does not accept clep exams. Thanks for the fyi, though.
