BCIT September 2020 Intake

Updated:   Published

Is anybody applying to the Nursing program at BCIT?

Please discuss what type of marks you will be applying with and any other experience you'll be including with your application

Also, how is the Casper examination? Whats that process like?

The short list is basically you survived the first round of cuts. So once you do the Casper they evaluate you results and they send letters to a bunch of people informing them they didn't get in. The remaining participants are shortlisted (about 180?) and then you do a questionnaire. Once that is completed they accept people I think its 62 per term. They then put people who they feel meet the requirements on a waitlist. The rest get letters they didn't get in. So then if you are top ten in the waitlist, if someone doesn't accept their spot for whatever reason their spot goes to the first on the waitlist ect. If your top ten and you don't get a spot you get a spot for the following term however if you are not top ten you have to reapply. I hope I got everything right!! Im top ten for april right now and from the april forum and emails from BCIT I believe this is accurate! Good luck everyone!!!!

That helps a ton thank you so much! ? Good luck to you too!!

Thank you!!!!

Hey guys, I applied for the September intake as well!! Would anyone know when we should be expecting further instructions from BCIT? This waiting period is so stressful!

Best luck to each and every one of us

I'm not sure when it will be for you guys but for the April 2020 intake, those who were shortlisted were notified on September 19th. I believe we wrote the CASPer at the end of July (can't quite remember)? So about a month and a half - 2 months after? Hopefully you hear soon! Best of luck! ?

I got a letter in my BCIT email! ? mycommunications hasn’t updated the information yet ..

Anyone that got waitlisted for April get any updates on September? I was told our applications are automatically resubmitted for the next intake.

The waitlists for april dont close until 2 weeks after classes begin! So you just still have to keep waiting for a call! If you do not get a call by the cut off then I would contact them.

Anyone else get shortlisted? How are you guys planning on prepping for the questionnaire? This is my first time applying so I don't know what to expect at all. Does anyone have any tips?

I also got shortlisted as well! I think the best way is to find examples from work or volunteer that defines professionalism, leadership, communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Congratulations! I hope we both make it ? I wonder how many others got shortlisted as well. This forum isn't nearly as active as previous intakes
