Board Certified Cardiac Vascular Nurse Exam, through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, (go to nursingworld.com for more info). A hard test, that cost me a bunch of money. You know we make soooo much we can spend it any ol' way! :roll Thanks Untamed Spirit, I needed that. By the way I will get a $1/hr raise and a promotion up my clinical ladder to level IV or Expert nurse, which is why I took the test in the first place. Always an ulterior motive!
thanks so much, Jenny P. I have the CCRN review books & have taken several reviews, but I sat for this exam 1) because it's local, 2) my background in CV, 3) few people have this one. I would get the same raise regardless of which cert I sat for. ( I have another cert in HT but hospital does not recognize it even though that one took 3 years & I had to write a book, & be tested in front of multiple instructors.... go figure:rolleyes: )....anyhoo, I did use my CCRN books to help me study not that they did any good, cuz I have no idea where those test questions came from, not from the CV book I bought from the co. that does the test! :roll
I am also Certified as a Healing Touch Practitioner (5 in Alabama). Healing Touch is a form of Bio-energy Therapy used for relaxation, pain management, promotion of wound healing, anxiety reduction, & stress management. Check the website on Healing Touch @ http://www.healingtouch.net for more information about classes, etc. I do not teach this (formally) but I do inform my clients & family members on how to do techniques to assist their loved ones (just like teaching a diabetic ). I have a private practice (small & part time) that I do this with, as well as with friends & family members. ciao!

Has anyone out there taken the ANCC BCCVN exam (for BSN's)? I will sit for this exam soon, & need advise. I have the book & flash cards, but any other info would be greatly appreciated. I have never sat for a computer exam as I've been a nurse 14 years, (remember scantron?). Much thanks to all responders.
