Hi!
I'm in my 4th year of my BScN and I've secured a full-time permanent position at BC Children's in their NICU . I'm very excited...but I live in Ontario...so it will be a hugeeee move. So I would really like to know if anyone's heard anything about this hospital...good or bad? Also if there's any nurses out there who work there or have worked there who could give me any info. that's be fantastic!:wink2:

I live in Vancouver (well, just outside the city) and I haven't worked at Childrens, but I did work at Vancouver General. Both Hospitals are amazing, great nurse to patient ratios due to the acuity of patients, and Childrens takes in children from all over the province. You'll find this rewarding and challenging with many resources available to you. To live close by, the housing/rent is expensive, it is a nice part of town, but I think thats probably similar to where you live now?
Good luck, there are many opportunities out here to experience! Weather is fairly mild too!

I'm a new grad who just moved to BC from Ontario and will be starting at BC Children's next month (very excited and nervous). So far from my limited experience with the hospital they seem great. They seem to have lots of resources to assist new grads (workshops, classes). As for the move, yes it is huge..trust me. I do miss my family and friends, but it is really beautiful here, so..so far so good. If you have any more questions let me know!
