Hi!
I am an immigrant right now in vancouver, canada and i am planning to practice as an lpn in the united states.
What are the specific requirements/documents that i need to have? I want to get ready as soon as possible.
Right now, i am applying for the nclex-pn exam. If i pass that exam, what are the other documents that i need to have in order for me to practice in usa? Also including the documents that i need with the us immigration?
Thank u!

please reply with specifics of your entry. detail your visa type and relevant history so that we can answer your question.
I am a permanent resident in Canada. and I just have a tourist visa right now with US. I am can apply for my canadian citizenship around september of this year.
I graduated as an LPN here in BC, Canada and just took the licensure exam here around 2 weeks ago. I am currently waiting for the results (hopefully I passed).
Also, I applied for the washington, DC Board of Nursing for the NCLEX-PN exam 2 weeks ago. I just need to submit my CGFNS in order for them to process my application which is valid until june 15'2011. because my evaluator requested a cgfns certificate in addition to my other requirements with them.
If I pass the NCLEX-PN exam in that state, what other documents do I need to prepare in order to work in the united states? especially the immigration papers to work to US.

You probably know this, but just in case you got bad information I thought I should check. You do know that Washington DC is all the way across the US from Vancouver, right? Washington state is directly adjacent to BC, but has a totally separate Board of Nursing from Washington DC. One Washington is a state, the other is the District of Columbia. You probably already know this, but if you didn't and intended to work in the Seattle area or elsewhere in WA, your paperwork is going to the wrong place.
that's fine, I was really planning to go to washington, DC-district of columbia. Not to seattle, washington. But thanks for the reminder! =) Do you know what other documents to prepare though in order for me to process them ASAP..
also, do I need a CGFNS certificate if I am a graduate here in BC, canada and i want to work in US?
Oh good! I just thought I'd check, as many Americans don't know the difference. Good Luck in DC!

What is your work status in the US? Do you have a ssn?
Why did you immigrate to Canada and then decide you wanted to go to the US?
