I graduated from BMCSON about 6 years ago and most comments are right. The secretary WAS rude at times, the instructors seemed uncaring, they where very strict, and unforgiving. Had a classmate that failed by 1/10 of a point. BUT, they were fair, knowledgable. I think they did a great job with my class. They prepared us for the very strict, unforgiving world of nursing.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!

I read all the reviews including this one and still decided to attend Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing. "Big Bird" Was actually not that bad. At least she kept the lecture interesting and did not read from the power point. But, yes if she did not like you, Watch Out!! She will not think twice to belittle you in front of your peers.

I should have followed my gut and ran when I first arrived at the school that looked like it was in a strip mall. The warm secretary is a taste of how you will eventually be treated by all of the faculty. Another warning was the entrance exam! It' like a I.Q test that is not even based on knowledge. I felt I was taking the state exam they give you in elementry school. It's as if they accept you knowing that you will fail and they take your money. You have to pass all exams with a 78 and some of the questions don't even make sense. Yes, exams in nursing school are different and they make you think. There can be several correct answers, but if the question is not clear you don't have much of a chance. The clinical rotation where you are supposed to gain experience does not happen. They will have you on the same unit doing the same thing for three semesters!

PLEASE! Save your self thousands of dollars and months of studying, weeks at clinical and DON'T GO TO THIS SCHOOL! Go to Christ School of Nursing. Just go there and you will see the difference. Take the enterance entrance exam and you will feel that you will be attending a REAL school. Go to Holy name anywhere, but here. If you don't pass the exam at Christ take all your other courses. A&P, Micro and try again. Don't be in a rush because in the long run you will be wasting your time and money. The only good thing about this school is Sonic is across the street.

You can't study for the exam at Bayonne, but remember they are going to show you about 20 items and later ask you to recall them. Good luck!

I can only tell you about the nursing program at Christ Hospital. I have gone to the school to have many questions answered and the Admissions Coordinator was quite friendly and helpful. I would advise you to contact the school so that you could see the school and speak with them. You could also go onto youtube and search for CHSON Promotional and you could watch this video which gives you a lot of information about the school and there's previous and current students sharing their testimonies. I hope this helps you some.
