I graduated in August from USF with my BSN and am currently looking for a position at a hospital in the Tampa/St. Pete area. I have recently had an interview for Bayfront's nurse residency program in St. Pete. Since interviewing I have heard some bad reviews about the program and the hospital in general from someone who works there. She says that management is terrible, the nurse to patient ratios are very bad, and that the residency is too short. I was wondering if there are any nurses out there who either have been through the program or work there (now or in the past) and have any information as to if these statements are true.
I really don't know much about the hospital, but I thought that my interview went well. I was really excited when I left the hospital until I was contacted and told not to take the position if it were offered to me because of the negative aspects of the hospital. If anyone has any information about the hospital or the program I would really appreciate it! Also, any suggestions as to other hospitals in the area that have residency positions or are hiring new grads would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Alaina

Just curious if you ended up getting a job at Bayfront or any of the other hospitals you mentioned. I was contacted to talk with them about setting up a phone interview and then in person interview for the GN program starting in February. I live in MD, so I would be risking losing money if I fly out there and stay in a hotel and then don't get offered a position? Do you know what the pay is for new graduate nurses there?
