Would it be easier to take Basic A & P before i take A&P 1 ?

What is basic A&P? You should have some basic understanding of physiology by taking your Biology and Chemistry courses. Are some people not required to take Biology, or something? Lol. In regards to your question: IMHO, waste of time. Just keep up with the work and find supplemental information on the internet (Khan Academy or YouTube) if you have any problems.

I have never heard of Basic A&P. I'm guessing it is a very entry level course maybe like a high school class. Here A&P I is 101, so you can't get much lower unless it's a remedial class and then you don't get college credit for it. I would not do it. I think it would be a waste of money. Especially if it a zero level class.

When I tutored pre- nursing students several years back, the community college where I taught had a pre-A&P course which students had to take if they had low science scores. I assume this is what you mean. If you have had little to no exposure to chemistry/biochem prior to this, I would suggest you take the lower level course first. While it is a small part of general nursing, the chemistry hoop, info about DNA, etc has to be successfulyy jumped. If you straight to regular A&P, depending on your academic background, you may find yourself floundering very quickly. In my school, one exam out of 3 was all chem. Fail it and you failed the course.

My university and community college offer this as a one semester course that covers all body systems covered in A&P I & II, but not as comprehensive. I did not take it, but know others who have.

My A&P I class started with 70 people and was at 25 two weeks before finals, then about 12 showed up for the final.

My A&P I instructor reccommended the class. Its a personal decision, so I will neither reccommend for or against it.

Think you will be better off just taking a general biology class and chemistry 101 then going into A&P.

My school doesn't require biology or chemistry before a&p and I did just fine. I think it depends on each person individually. If you are very weak in science then I would maybe look into it. I would be very sure though because if you take it and ended up not needing it, it would be a class and semester wasted when you could have already taken a&p and gotten it out of the way. Good luck!

I understand most people thing basic A&P is unimportant, I personally have yet to take it, however my sister said she learned more in basic A&P then she did in both A&P 1 and A&P 2.
