Hi all! This thread hasn't been started that I see. I am looking ahead at schools to apply this this next year. Barry is one of them. I'm having trouble locating a 600 level chemistry course... I haven't found a local university that teaches grad level chemistry with lab. If they do, I have to take some of their pre req classes.  Which would put me back in applying a lot. 
I called the office and I was told there are schools that do it, however I was not able to get any names. Any help or someone that can provide further explanation? None of the online schools teach graduate chemistry as well.
It seems they just changed this requirement in the middle of last years application cycle- per other threads.  They used to be okay with just general chem. 
 

"Successful completion (grade B or better) of one graduate-level college chemistry course (600 level and above) with a laboratory component. The course (not laboratory component) must have been taken within five years of beginning the Program. Organic chemistry or biochemistry is strongly preferred. In addition, one previous additional science/mathematics course (examples include anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, physics, genetics, statistics, and algebra) is required"

I believe it use to say that a while ago but they changed the wording. I did organic chemistry as well and know others who did too

Hey everyone. I applied June 10 and June 11 I received the email saying my application has been received. The application status on the website has not changed and it still says "We have received your application for admission to Barry University". Is this normal and do I just keep waiting or should I call to see if something is missing.

Hi. Did you end up calling? Mine also still says this. I am curious if anyone else's does as well.

I submitted a week ago! Finishing up organic chem on the 19th. Anxious to know when they will be letting us know about interviews. Good luck everyone!

It takes like a month or so. Some people commented when they submitted VS. when they got notified.

For those asking about higher level chem, these are some options:

 

UCSD - (no pre-req required, paced over 2 months)

JHU - (chemistry pre-req required, at your own pace)

https://nursing.jhu.edu/programs/prerequisites/biochemistry/

 

Either of these options are pretty good. I personally took it with JHU... and although it was somewhat challenging, it was easily manageable with full time job/travel.

 

I applied 6/11. (Hollywood 1st option/Orlando 2nd option). Still waiting patiently. All we can do is hope for the best and prepare for whatever comes. On that note, there are TONS of helpful interview preps out there.

Just had my interview on Friday and hoping it went well. They said they are letting people know within a few weeks. That accurate or is it still in the 7-10 day range?
