Hi all! This thread hasn't been started that I see. I am looking ahead at schools to apply this this next year. Barry is one of them. I'm having trouble locating a 600 level chemistry course... I haven't found a local university that teaches grad level chemistry with lab. If they do, I have to take some of their pre req classes.  Which would put me back in applying a lot.
I called the office and I was told there are schools that do it, however I was not able to get any names. Any help or someone that can provide further explanation? None of the online schools teach graduate chemistry as well.
It seems they just changed this requirement in the middle of last years application cycle- per other threads.  They used to be okay with just general chem.

"Successful completion (grade B or better) of one graduate-level college chemistry course (600 level and above) with a laboratory component. The course (not laboratory component) must have been taken within five years of beginning the Program. Organic chemistry or biochemistry is strongly preferred. In addition, one previous additional science/mathematics course (examples include anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, physics, genetics, statistics, and algebra) is required"

Hi everyone! Does anyone know if Portage learning courses are accepted? Or have you or anyone you know been accepted with the BioChem or Orgo from Portage. The portage website states that students completing courses through Portage Learning receive college credit through their two partner institutions: Geneva College and Bushnell University. Both of these institutions are accredited Organizations that are listed on BARRY's approved list for accreditation per the information session.

Hi, I can answer that for you.  I was told they don't love Portage, but they do accept them.  What I will also tell you is from my experience they do not tell everyone the same things across the board.  If you ask around to enough people applying, you can get an idea of what I mean.  I would call and get a verbal on this, but I would also send an email and get it in writing.  Do not chance what I say on this board or anyone else.  It is too expensive and time consuming.  Good Luck!

Has anyone been accepted to Ocala or Gainesville campus recently or know if these locations are full? Thanks! 🙂

Has anyone heard back who interviewed October 17th?

The website says you can apply after 11/1 deadline.  Does anyone know if that's through NursingCAS still or disadvantages to doing so?

You can apply but the Barry website says that it gets considered on a space available basis.

Applications are closed, anyone hear anything else? 🙂

Nothing here. My coworker who applied in July got a call to interview a couple weeks ago. He said they'll be calling for interviews through the end of the month.

Just got my denial via email. Would have loved to interview. Best of luck to everyone else!

I'm very sorry to hear that. I know this has been a journey for many and its disheartening. I've yet to receive anything myself. I want to be hopeful but its been very hard. I hope this doesn't stop you from continuing to pursue this adventure. Your stats look amazing and I know a program will give you a chance. Good luck!

Try to remain hopeful! There are 56 people in the official Fb group and you can always reach out to Barry CRNA's External Relations Coordinator and see if you can schedule a zoom meeting and discuss your application. She mentioned it in the information session one time and I believe it was very beneficial!
