Barry CRNA Starting 2018

Nursing Students SRNA

Hello all! I just thought I would start a thread for those of us applying. I have started my application and I am working on my personal statement now. How are you all doing?

I have taken the GRE and passed my CCRN. I still need to get my PALS. I also need to ask for my letters of recommendation and send in my school transcripts & GRE scores. I'm going to try to apply for the Tampa campus.

Yes you can take chemistry after the interview. They do like to see some sort of documentation of what course you are planning on taking, either an enrollment verification or even just an email showing the course description. If accepted, you will have a contingency requirement to complete the chemistry. Same for PALS.

I received an email today stating that my application was received by the Anesthesiology Department for review. I am hoping that means we will start to hear back soon!

Hi fsnurselaur9,

I was wondering if you could help me with something..sent you a PM. thanks

Sure! I messaged you back.

Hi everyone. I applied in December and I got that same email on Feb 3rd saying my application has been received for review. Has anyone gotten a call for interview yet? I was stalking the board from last year's applicants and it looked like people started getting calls around this time. The wait is the hardest. I feel pretty good about my GPA and GRE (3.8 and 315) but I'm lacking a lot of critical care experience, I only just started in the CVICU this past July, the rest of my experience is 5 years in OR (mostly trauma, but still doesn't count for CRNA school).

Hello honuRN, BSN, RN

Im currently an OR nurse I have prior PICU experience. I'm still in the process of applying as well. I have just completed and submitted my application docs and still have to take the GRE early March. Your stats sound great! I think you'll be fine regarding experience because I believe you have until the program begins to complete the one year ICU experience requirement. BTW, I noticed "honu" on your screen name is "honu...". Is there a chance you might be from Hawaii????

I'm not from Hawaii but my husband is :) I was lucky enough to live there for several years and we met on Oahu, got married and had our daughter there. But we moved to Florida last year so that I could pursue my dream of being a CRNA and after school and some work experience we hope to move back (most of his family is on Maui).

Is anybody else currently in the ANE 695 Transition course? As much as I wasn't a fan of paying so much for a class, it's been a great review of chem concepts I forgot I learned way back when, and I liked that the first modules really talked about the practice of anesthesia both in historic terms and also in regards to current issues. The self-pacing and being completely online part helps a lot, too.

So cool! We're military and are stationed on Oahu right now. Moving to south Florida this summer. We're originally from Miami. We'll definitely miss it here though.

Hey everyone,

I just submitted my application today (both nervous and excited)! I'm just waiting on my references to be sent. If accepted, I plan on attending the satellite campus in Orlando. My stats are as follows:

16 months combined ICU/CCU

CCRN & CMC Certification

BLS, ACLS, PALS Certification

GRE: 305 (150 Verbal, 155 Quant, 4.5 Writing)

Fingers crossed that everyone gets an interview! Good Luck!

Hi everybody ! I was wondering if anybody received a call/email for the interview ?
