Anyone preparing for Barry starting in jan 2015?? I'm taking a chem now and preparing for the GRE. And for those that have already been accepted, any advice?? What do you think of the program??

do the head start and it makes the program much easier....

hope interview went well

hope you were accepted if so do the head start

Had my interview today. There were a lot of other applicants. The interview was very informal and I also didn't get any clinical questions. I can't wait to hear from them. It's gonna be a long week!!

you will receive an email within a couple days...followed by a letter...clinical questions are usually left out if you have a strong ICU background....my interview was 5 questions....if you have your CCRN, Chemistry requirement, ACLS and PALS, with GRE scores at, near or above the 40th percentile you will be admitted without provisions....

Hopefully I get accepted. I really want to do the head start. BTW why didn't you use your books?

I decided pretty quickly that anesthesia wasn't for me as a matter of fact I have started my own buisiness and only take per diem work here and there. All my book are new if you are interested. I hardly opened them at all but I have been in nursing for 18 years....

I am unsure about a few things about Barry’s application process, but I plan to apply next year for Jan 16. By the way congratulations to everyone who was accepted! By all accounts, Barry is a really awesome institution, that’s quite an accomplishment already. My understanding is that following the interview, acceptances are quick, and applicants are given 2 weeks to accept and pay the deposit, or they may forfeit their spot. Is that correct? Do people who have provisional acceptances have a timeline for the deposit? Are provisional acceptances given to otherwise qualified applicants that are only lacking PALS? I am also still unsure about the process they use to determine clinical site placement. Is it first-come-first-serve based on interview date or deposit payment date or something else? By the way, this thread and others like it have been invaluable for me, I really appreciate everybody’s contributions so far, and thanks in advance for any answers that anyone can help me with.

The acceptance deposit will occur when you receive your letter not the Email you receive within a week. The thousand dollars holds your spot and is applied to costs of the first semester. Provisional acceptance still requires the deposit to hold your spot and is nonrefundable if provisions are not met. Just take PALS and you are done. Clinical site rotation is based on choice and almost everyone I know receives their first choice. They do take into consideration your current Location. For instance, If you live in Orlando and do not want to relocate you get Orlando. If you are from out of State choose Orlando or Miami as Tampa and Ocala have limited spots. If I can answer anything else please feel free to ask.

I got accepted!!! I'm so happy!!!
