Bargain Basement Computer Systems

I am so tired of computer systems crashing, logins failing, password resets, systems that don't communicate, and incompetent computer techs. And, if your hospital is part of a franchise, the programs originate far away, and you are at their mercy.

And the geeks who write some of these programs don't know how regular people think.

And now they have password complexity rules, and you have to change your passwords frequently. And did I mention crummy, exasperating programs? Grrrr

Out of all the hats we nurses wear, IT is definitely one of them...Argh!!! :geek:

Agree! We use an incredibly outdated system over paying for a less complicated, more user friendly one. Even though competing hospitals have already adopted it.

Instead, we spend money building more clinics, in hopes it'll bring in more revenue. Not to make technology in the hospital more efficient. But to build more clinics. Ugh.
