Baptist School Of Health Professions- Fall 2016

Published

Hey everyone,

I know it's early!! But, I applied for the Fall of 2016 and was wondering if anyone else had also applied? What is your GPA? How is the TEAS test?

Hey everyone! Congrats again!

Quick question here... where did everyone take micro and what was your course number?

For some reason I'm worried it won't transfer to BHSP...

It doesn't look like the Alamo colleges carry the course + lab, or am I totally confused? I'd hate to pay for this course at UTSA!

Can you rec them? I'm taking those course in the next summer term and this fall! Hoping for a seat at Baptist in spring! @summerskye23

I took BIOL 2420 it's lecture and lab, at Northeast Lakeview with Professor Lisa Strain. She's great!

I took the exact same course and professor! She is a wonderful teacher!!! Very helpful and wants to get you out with a great grade!

I asked the advisor about the cost of tuition without general education courses (RN program). She said it is approximately $5,000 cheaper. So about $21,000.

Not bad. I need to see if my credits will transfer over for the gen. ed courses.

Did anyone on here apply for Fall 2016 but had to wait until June 15th to be ranked? Don't know if this was brought up in a past post or not. Just wondering if anyone has heard their results or not or know when they might expect to receive them?

@sdieterle did you find out if you were accepted??

Hello! I was just accepted into the Fall 2017 RN evening program and I was just curious how the uniforms work. Do you purchase your own scrubs or do you purchase them there at the school and what color? I have also been looking at stethoscopes. What do y'all suggest? Does it have to be a particular color as well?

Hi and congrats! You purchase your own scrubs which are navy blue. You can buy used scrubs from the school that have been donated by recent grads for $5. It's a good deal because the patches, which are $5, are already sewn on. You can get any color stethoscope you want. I got my Litmann classic III on amazon for less than what the school sold them for.

Oh ok thanks for the info! Are there any other medical supplies that I may need?

You will need a pen light, medical scissors a little notebook for writing down vitals and the codes for the nutrition/supply rooms. Also try to invest in a NCLEX type book that has lots of questions in it for practice. The wording of the tests in nursing school is much different than that of your pre reqs, they're not as straight forward and it throws students for a loop at first. Also don't ignore the boxes on the page when you're reading. There are many test questions there!
