Baptist School of Health Professions (Spring 2015)

Published

Any hopefuls for the upcoming spring semester next year? I just put in my application, FAFSA, and sent all my transcripts. Taking the TEAS as soon as I get acclimated to my micro course.

Thanks !!! Def keep u in my mind starting in January in the evening too! How long have u been going

I started this Fall.

It requires a lot of studying. The most important suggestion I can give is to keep up with the reading assignments. In this program you hit the ground running. Week 3 we were in clinical. At times it can be overwhelming, but for the most part not too bad. I really enjoy being in the evening class we only have 27 students.

Thanks for the advice! I'm starting in Jan. Days

So January will be ur second semester? Did u get to skip the first semester or is that what ur taking? I'm currently a LVN and skipping the first semester doing evenings as well. Maybe will be in ur class?

Where my RT's at?

Oh ok that's awesome .. I was worried too and keep checking my trash/spam folder just in case lol. I asked the nurse when I saw her last week and she said she had no clue when they send them out. Well let's stay in touch and see if we can help each other out even thou we are taking classes at different times they can't be much different. Are u doing tje bsn or ADN program ? If it's the ADN are u doing the 3? 4? Or 5 semester program

Hi, I'm interested in the ADN program and have all the gen ed courses. What do you mean about the 3,4 or 5 semester program? Is there a 3 semester program for those who are not lvn's?

The program is originally 5 semesters and that's with the prerequisites. If u have the general Ed course then you get to skip a summer semester that is when the rest of the class takes theirs. So that will leave you with 4 semesters. And if u happen to be a lvn then u get to automatically start at semester 2. You don't take all the fundamental classes. So that leaves u with 3 semesters.

Where my RT's at?

What type of RT are you talking about?? The school uses RT when talking about xray tech i think. I am an Respiratory Therapist, which is also referred to as an RT.

If you are not a LPN/LVN, you have to do the traditional 5 semester program unless you have all the pre-reqs and gen eds done. If you have them done, expect a 4 semester program. If you do very well your first and possibly second semester, and have the gen eds done, you may get to take some courses in the summer, and possibly shorten your graduation date by a whole semester. They said not to bank on that, because even with great grades, that option is left to the discretion of the director.

I am just waiting on financial aid. That is going to be the deal breaker for me, as I have previous degrees.

I talked to financial aid and won't be a deal breaker like u, but it definately will be a no gift Xmas lol if it doesn't come thru. She said to wait till next week to see the financial award letters to be completed. She said they are on working on them now.
