Baptist Scholarship with Nova and Barry

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has been accepted to do the Baptist scholarship with Nova or Barry. How does it work? How much do you make after you graduated(if you dont mind posting)? Do you get to pick the section on which you want to work ( ICU would be my first choice)? Do you like attending classes at Baptist Hospital? Would you have done anything differently if you had the chance?

Thank you.

I thought I would reply to my own thread to get it up to the top again. I hope someone replies soon.

is there anyone out there that can answer my question? Please.

baptist hospital scholars program - miami

Hey, thanks for that link! I posted this reply to it, take a look!

Hello,

I had my interview with the Baptist Scholars Program yesterday. Don't be afraid of the questions they will ask, just be ready to answer anything they throw at you. The panel consisted of 5 women (not all of them were Baptist employees, one of them was actually a representative from Barry) They each have their own packet of questions with about 5 pages in total. On each sheet, there are several questions that they can choose from, whichever they choose, they place a check next to it and as you are answering the question, they write down notes at the bottom portion of the paper. (P.s- 90% of the questions are work-related. This is because, if you were to receive the scholarship, you have a 2-3 year working contract with Baptist therefore, they want an idea of how you would handle situations in the workplace.)

Some questions were among the lines of:

- Explain a situation in which you had to go above and beyond in order to complete a project.

- If you and a fellow employee could not agree or see eye to eye, what would you do inorder to resolve this?

- Which is better, creativity or efficiency?

- Which characteristics do you believe a nurse should possess?

- What would you say is your greatest accomplishment?

They asked a few more but I cannot think of them right now! They were all among those lines so you should prepare to answer work-related questions.

I really hope this information helps everyones who is interested in the program and GOODLUCK to all of you, let me know if you need any further information or help.

Thank you Pinknurse14,

I had already read all of your information in the other thread. Anyway, please keep us updated on any information you find out about the scholarship. I hope that you are one of the accepted student.

has anyone been accepted to the baptist scholar program for fall 2010.. i am still waiting for my letter, i have not heard anything yet and im super anxious im a student from barry.

Priscy: Have you tried calling the scholars department and asking for your result? Some students have been able to get an answer. Unfortunately, i haven't been as lucky but its worth mentioning.

Nurse Kitty,

Thnx if I dont get any response by friday I am definately calling on monday...

Are you a Barry or Nova student?

Well sorry to hear that you were not a lucky one to find out if you got in... but just think positive =D I wish you the best of luck!

Pris

Priscy89,

Call the Scholars department, my friend called and they advised her of her denial, so they should be able to advise you on that... I received a call on Monday that i was accepted into their program but i didnt receive my packet yet.. they said today but its not here so maybe tomorrow or something, i just want to read the facts and sign my life away as they to Baptist.

So go and call you dont have to wait for something in the mail, they are able to notify you over the phone...goodluck and wishing you the best!!!! :nurse:
