Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has applied to the versant new grad program at Baptist Hospital in Miami? What are your top 3 choices in specialty/hospital? Any interview tips?

I recently did the phone screen by HR and am moving on to the next interview step, so nervous and not sure what to expect! Also I'm referring to the one that starts in March 2017 :yes:

I'm not too sure why I was told by people at Baptist that they would be making a decision regarding Med-Surg positions by the end of the week for the last two weeks. From what I've been able to gather from previous posts on this site, it seems that this typically stretches out as far as the week after next. I would have appreciated an ambiguous answer to my questions regarding the timing of the hiring decision over what I consider misinformation. I'm now under the impression that they will not be sending out any offers for those of us that interviewed for Med-Surg until the second half of next week at the earliest. I understand that they have loads of candidates and interviews to conduct and would have understood if they couldn't give me a direct answer in regards to the time they were going to be hiring. However, to be confidently told misinformation at best twice is pretty disconcerting for me. Does anyone know of anyone who has been made an offer for a Med-Surg position? A simple email update would've alleviated a lot of stress for what is probably 100 or more people who have been holding their breath for the last 7-10 days.

to be honest I have no idea. I was from the Specialty selection and received mine early. My other classmates are also waiting from Baptist for a few weeks now after their interview. I dont know if you guys start later than us but I would call the recruiter to ask her that question anomalously.

I completely agree with your statement, so far throughout this whole process from application to offers it feels like Baptist has been very vague with their communication, most likely to not get people disappointed in the outcome. However I agree that Baptist should, at the very least, send an update to let all applicants know what's going on and what to expect. I've tried to get in contact with the recruiter but I have not been able to communicate with them. I guess it's just a waiting game, I will definitely update this thread if I hear anything.

Congratulations! which specialty did you get?

The program starts at the same time so all Specialty/Med Surg starts March 6. Since we are already so close to the start date, I believe we should be hearing back by next week so that everyone has enough time to do the paperwork, badges, processing, etc. but again that's just a guess on my part.

Honestly it could be a possibility but I'm not sure really. With so many hospitals and so many applicants they might just be sorting through everyone, but the wait is killing me. I really hope everyone here gets an offer!
