Baker (Flint) Kaplan Test Takers .....

Published

i am taking the kaplan entrance test next week. i was wondering if anyone has any feedback on their experience taking it. the feedback thus far is that it has been a challenge for many. i understand that it is 91 questions divided into 4 sections - writing, reading, math, and science (physiology). other than that, i am in the dark.

specifically, i was wondering what test prep was most helpful.

thanks in advance for your thoughts .......

Know your A&P like the back of your hand and brush up on your basic math.

I found every one of the A&P questions were unexpected and not areas of A&P where I would have put a lot of focus into studying.

Is this for the spring session start?

Yes, it is for the spring session.

I have taken the test, and I did good, not great, but good. I studied a lot for the A&P and it seemed to pay off. While many said that section was really difficult, I found it fairly easy. The reading and math were basic and realitively straight forward. The writing section was hard for me - not my strength by any means. On top of that, I found the format confusing.

For those who are interested or are going to take this test in the future, do not waste your time and money buying the Kaplan prep guide. It does nothing to help you.

Anybody else take the test? How did you do? any feed back?

Hi, I took the test and ended up getting a 79% The lady administering the test told us that the average was around a 72% and that 25.3 points is too low to get into the nursing program for Spring of 2011. I'm not sure if she knew what she was talking about or not, but that is what she told everyone (before we took the test -_-) as if we weren't nervous enough..

Also, in case anyone was wondering when they are getting their letters in the mail, Phyllis (the nursing director for Baker of Flint) said she is getting ready to mail them, and we should have them by the end of this week.

Good luck everyone :)

How exciting for all of you! Good luck!

curious you say your points back in the spring were 25.3, now you say you have 26.1? If you got a point for reapplication wouldn't that make you 26.3?
