What do you do if you feel you may be receiving a bad rap from your most recent employer? I left my position the end of June, have put in a few applications without any positive results. Have had two interviews. I am beginning to wonder if my last employer is giving me a bad rap. I left them with 2 weeks notice, did not abuse my sick/leave time, did above what I was expected to. However, the DON did not appreciate me offering my more updated ideas, and she often would find ways to bring me down to earth for her convenience. I have to list her as my supervisor on my resume, but I am beginning to wonder if she is telling prospective employers that "I would not re-hire her." Any one who has had this happen to them? Any feedback is appreciated. My reason for leaving was that they did away with unit managers of which I was one. They re-assigned all the other unit managers except me to clerical type positions, I was told I could "return to the floor" as which point they were asking me to pretend manage and take patients. My patients had priority, so I was not doing the managing----they did away with the position so why did they keep asking me to do things I did as a manager??
