Bad Day

Last night I had a crappy night. I kept making stupid simple mistakes and just felt like a haze was over me. I hate nights like that because you have to be so perfect. I just couldn't bring my A-Game and now my moral is in the toilet.

Why are we so hard on ourselves? Most nurses are. Everyone has bad days with too many patients and too much to do. I come home from work so tired sometimes all I want to do is take a shower and go to bed. I always blame everything on me, but sometimes I know it's just the day. When I'm not the only nurse there on my shift working late to catch up on charting I know that it was bad for everyone.

Hope your next night is better. That's what keeps us going, I think. If they were all bad we would all give up.
