And I personlly woud never say any back pain is 'solved'. IMO these types of back injuries/pain/strain responds for a little to virtually any type of treatment then it resumes when the person isn't willing to change their lifestyle, lose weight or strengthen core muscles.
I have worked with surgeons and knew a highly qualified doctor (with 4 degrees in different surgery and oralmaxillofacial surgery!) & we were talking about back & neck pain one day. He said although you can have bulging discs, ie: serious back conditions, most times when heat etc is applied the muscles can relax, more blood flows to the are, the person feels better as endorphins are released. But it's the nerves that keep firing after the treatment has worn off that causes problems. The person may have had surgery to treat the cause of pain, but the nerves keep firing and the person keeps c/o pain.
It is a field I think we are still learning much about. Mind you, I also knew a fantastic german (think) chiropractor here and he was brilliant (he's probly retired now).
Buy now and we will throw in an inversion bed for free. Just kidding, sort of. Not impressed unless there are large, well designed, reproducible and peer reviewed studies. As a chronic pain sufferer, I'm keen to come across the latest and greatest therapy. Unfortunately, nothing with significant efficacy yet.
There are studies that can be found in that esteemed medical journal, youtube!! It must be GREAT!!!
Wooh, you're hysterical!!!
I had a patient come in who knew heaps (some of it was incorrect) about his condition, and he said: 'I went on the internet and emailed all these doctors in AMERICA and they gave me all the answers, so they must be true!' I thought Oh well if you're happy. I felt like saying: How did u know they were doctors?! But I diplomatically kept my mouth shut :)
as you have mentioned priviously (bulging discs / or for ex. hurniated discs ) patients with such conditions may experience severe pain in lumbar or cervical regions, I dont know how much you know of decompressions tables. many ppl after MVA's experience such problems, and could be resolved with such treatments, trust me dont give up... surgery is great, but touching delicate spinal cort could lead to paralization, and the number of cases is 50/50 unfort.
OP I do not have a back condition of any sort, because I LOOK AFTER MY BACK. I guard my back like it's made from gold, and the number of nurses I've had to tell to lift properly, put a bed up, or NOT to lift a lol who doesn't LOOK heavy...well, the only person responsible for their back is YOU. I keep telling my nurses that, but they will do stupid things. Even here in Oz now we do not stop ANY patients falling to the floor, we guide them or let them fall, because too many staff were hurting their backs. There is an easy way not to hurt ur back if asked to lift etc: JUST SAY NO.
