Dear Nurse Beth,

I have been an RN for 20 yrs. BA, MHA but no BSN. Have been out of work for 10+ yrs due to a career mobile husband and moving a lot. Also have walking difficulties due to MS. No other issues. Have been applying to lots of CM jobs (was working in hospice for a few yrs) but no real “bites” Current CA license. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Dear No Bites,

It's going to be challenging without a BSN and having been out of the workforce for 10 years.

A clinical position is probably not going to work with your MS, but most non-clinical roles require a BSN.

Have you considered pursuing non-RN opportunities with your MHA? Maybe an administrative job in hospice, with your hospice background? There's also medical billing, and group health administration. Rehab and long term care facilities also have non-RN administrative positions.

Best wishes in your Job Search and for your health-
