What would a normal dose for Vitamin B12 injection be, the dose as well as how it is prescribed. Thanks

Our standing orders are for B12 injection 100mg via IM Q month. We treat the same drunks over and over so they are pretty much all up to date, so many with bum stomachs.
Thanks Mama. What would that be in cc/ml ??? Reason I ask, pharmacy error at work. The order transcribed correctly, pharmacy filled incorrectly, wasn't caught by nurses. We're in the sh_t house again, as usual. Guess we should also know their job.

Ummmm JellyBean the usual depends on what the B12 is being given for. When I have given it, the dose was 1000mcg/ml equaling 1cc. IM. But I have seen if given in such small doses I needed a TB syringe to give it. And even larger dose can be given also.
So what was the dose ordered, and the dose pharmacy sent up??

varies with the patient
1000 mcg IM monthly is pretty much the norm though
