So I've been searching for a topic regarding APU's MSN-FNP program, and did not find any. I found a lot for ELM program and not the traditional MSN, so I thought I'd start one.

Anybody applied for the MSN-FNP program at APU? Or any current or past students that can tell us more about the program? I applied for the traditional MSN-FNP program at the main campus for Spring 2014 and I'm still waiting for an acceptance letter. I spoke with the MSN coordinator and she said that they'll try to have their decision by the first or second week of October.

Hi Watermelon21! I've also been looking for discussions on this so I'm glad you started one. I'm sure others will have the same questions and anticipation. I also applied to MSN-FNP for the IE campus. This was the application that was due September 13 right? Somebody from admissions to ask me for the rest of my "application" and I assured her I had mailed it. I took the opportunity to ask when we would know something and she told me probably not until at least December. Which I thought was strange because the program would start not too long after that right? She was very very nice though so I'm just pleasantly surprised that they told you something sooner. I am about to graduate from APU from their BSN program so I am very excited at the possibility that I can continue with them. Well good luck to you and anybody else who has applied. Keep us posted =]

Hi luckyshamrock22,

Thanks for replying. Yeah it was the application that was due on the 13th. I also received a call from a lady telling me to submit the rest of my application. I told her I submitted it in person. Have you checked your status on home.apu.edu? It should say "complete" if you've turned everything in. Anyway, I don't think December is accurate..you're right that's way too soon before the program starts. I spoke with ******, the MSN coordinator, directly and she told me by the first or second week of October. I asked if they make phone calls or e-mails and she told me that they'd send it out in a letter form.

I looked on my apu page and it says incomplete pending the BSN diploma to post. They assured me that was okay because they know my completion/graduation is December and my admission would be conditional as long as I did in fact graduate. Are you also an APU student? Or were for that matter? Do you know anything about how competitive it is for the traditional program? I know the ELM is competitive from what I hear.

No, I graduated from a Cal State this past July. I'm not sure how competitive the traditional program is. I've only been reading about the ELM program and it sounds really competitive. Hopefully someone with that knowledge joins this thread and gives us a little info about the program.

hi guys.. I am so glad that watermelon started the traditional MSN program topic here.. I applied this program too.. does anyone know if we are gonna get interviews for this program?

From what I know, I haven't heard that this program requires an interview. I know they do interviews for the ELM.

thanks luckyshamrock22.. :)

I asked the coordinator before I submitted my application if we were going to get interviewed. She told me that they don't necessarily have to interview unless they want to find out more things about the applicant? So I don't think they interview their applicants.

thanks luckyshamrock22.. :)

SS, what campus are you applying to?

azusa main compus, MSN-combined cns and anp
