Hi guys! Has anyone applied to APU's ELM program for Spring 2020 term?! Deadline was Feb 1, and I am just interested in seeing if anyone has received any interviews yet or when they will start giving invitations out!? I personally applied to the San Diego campus. Is this everyones first time applying?!

Hello! I applied for Spring 2020 Entry MSN. Still haven't heard anything yet. For those of you that have - did you get a call or email?

Also, best of luck everyone!

Aw, I’m sorry to hear that @heytrishha....you never know, they may still contact you! I received a call. They didn’t send me an email. Good luck!!

If you applied to the main campus, they're still rolling out interview invitations over the next couple of weeks!

hiiii everyone!! I was wondering if anyone knows some of the questions they ask during the ELM interview???? i'm freaking out. my interview is this coming friday!!!

Hello, anyone applied to the IE for Spring 2020? I have not heard anything back yet :( im getting super nervous

@heytrishha thanks for the question. I haven't heard anything either but I completely assumed it was an email invitation. I haven't checked my voicemail in a week. ? I'm sure you'll get in somewhere and I wish u the best in your process towards becoming an RN.

hi everyone. if you got accepted for the fall 2019 cohort at azusa campus i started a Facebook group. it's called "APU ELM Azusa Fall 2019." can't wait to meet everyone :') & good luck to everyone still in the application process!

My interview was on google hangout which is basically like FaceTime or Skype. I feel like this was a lot easier than an in-person interview because I had more time to do my writing prompt. Basically how my morning went was the writing prompt was emailed to me at 8:00am sharp and then I had up until my interview at 11:00am to complete it and send it back prior to my interview. What I highly suggest is arriving like 1-2 hours early because they might give you the prompt early as well. As far as the interview goes they asked very generic questions such as:

1. Why Azusa?

2. Why do you want to be a nurse?

3. Do you know a nurse practitioner’s role?

4. Have you talked to any nurses? If so, have they told you what kind of qualities a nurse should possess?

Those are the questions that my interviewer asked me. The nurses at work kinda gave me an idea that these questions were going to be asked so prior to my interview I wrote the questions down, answered them in paragraph form, and then memorized my answers to the T! This really helped me A LOT because I was so confident throughout the whole interview that I barley even stuttered from being so nervous when in reality I wassss lol & towards the end, I was offered admission to the fall 2019 cohort when I originally applied to the spring 2020 term. I heard this like never happens so if you aren’t offered admission by the end don’t freak out! ♥️ I hope this helps!

@kisschrissy ughhh, you are an absolute ANGEL!!! Thank you soo much!! For whatever reason I wasn’t expecting the nurse practitioner question- definitely good to know!! ?? And haha luckyyy, you’re totally right about the writing portion & having more time. Same thing happened to me with a different school since I don’t live in their state. I’m assuming you don’t live in San Diego since your interview was via google hangout? And omg, congratulations on getting in right on the spot!!! That must have felt sooo rewarding!! ?? Azusa is my #1 choice, soo that literally would have made my day! Haha Thank’s again for all your help!
