Hello All!

Just submitted my application for APU ELM program San Diego campus. I didn't see a forum yet for this application cycle so I figured I would start one. Please post all the questions, concerns, and whatever else here. Do you know when we should expect to hear back results? Best of luck to all applicants!!

Hi everyone, I am applying to the inland empire campus for the elm program. I recently had my interview last Tuesday. Now I am waiting to hear back, does anyone know how long it may take?

Hi Victoria, one of my emails said decisions will be distributed in early to mid July. Are you able to share tips or types of questions they asked you in your interview?

Thank you for the response. And yes!! The interview was really straightforward, the inland empire campus only had online meetings. My interview took about 45-50 minutes. The professor was really nice. She did not ask me any questions regarding my grades, GPA, etc, except for a statistical survey (non related to the interview) in the beginning. Questions were mostly based about my personality, how I would handle conflict or ethical dilemmas, and why azusa specifically. Afterwards we discussed my own personal questions and that was it, hope this helps anyone who needs it.

Hi JC7789, At the interview there was no skill test nor a communication test. It is just you and the person interviewing. It is a perfect time to showcase your abilities and why you want to follow this path at Azusa.

Hi MarianaD, Thank you so much for the information! And congratulations on getting in! By the way did you only apply once and got in or you applied more than once? I've heard their seats fill up fast and they can't always admit everyone who qualifies.

I applied once. I was not expecting to get in since I heard the same. So people apply multiple times.

Hi Reign Schoeben!

Thank you for sharing your stats! I really appreciate the information and kind words. But yeah, it's definitely hard waiting to hear back from them. Good luck on your interview! Do you know if they ask us to do skills tests? I heard some schools partner people up and test us on how we well we can communicate with each other. And maybe do written essay on site?

Hello, I am not sure if they ask for skills during the interview. Mine is over Zoom so if they did it would just be an explanation of how to do it I would assume. I haven't had my interview yet but it's later this week so I will let you know how it goes 🙂

Hello!

I applied for the APU (Inland Empire Campus). I had my interview and now I am waiting to hear back . Good luck to all!! 😊

I just had my interview today and here are some tips I would offer to people getting ready to interview. The interviewer was so sweet, and they want to see you succeed, so although it is nerve wracking just know that they aren't out to get you. It's OK if you need them to repeat the question. some things I would focus on in preparation are to go over your application essay, and resume. All the questions she asked me were very tailored to my application packet. know exactly why you are choosing this career path, and how this program is specifically going to help you succeed. think of things you may not have had room to put in your application (any volunteer, work experience, or hobbies) that help prepare you for this, and make you a good applicant. Think of all of the challenges that come with this program and career path in general and think of how you will remedy any challenges that come up. I feel like I personally could have been better with making eye contact with the camera (it was a zoom interview) so be aware to keep that eye contact. have your resume, essay, and notes with you so you can draw from those if you're blanking on what to say. If you cant think of anything to say for a while a good tip I personally use is to 1. ask to have the question repeated if you forgot what/how you were going to answer, and 2. I like to say 'that is a great question, I need a second to think over this'. I of course dress professionally and test your computer before hand if you are going the Zoom route. If in person show up 30-45 minutes early, you never know when traffic or a wreck on the highway may be backing up traffic. Good luck to everyone, you will do amazing!!

Thank you so much for sharing all your great tips and your interview experience! I hope I will be able to do well too. Best of luck to you and everyone! Have a great rest of your weekend!

Hi everyone! Just a quick question for anyone that has interviewed for the inland empire campus. At the end of the interview, did they tell you the orientation date? Thanks in advance!
